She drowned in the sea. Alcohol and swimming at night ain’t a very good combination

I remember when i first heard this case, i heard many aunties and uncles saying some vile things abt her, and how she shouldn’t have gone on vacation with her friends anyway. Even blaming her parents for not raising her well. I hate the mindset south asian communities have, such a shame.

Drunken drowning. Young people making mistakes. If you go out together with your friends always make sure you come back together. Leave no one behind.

May I suggest Desi Crime rethink the merch video at the end? So many episodes leave the viewer feeling raw and heartbroken. The upbeat “if you like what we are wearing” kills the vibe. Maybe you could present it at the beginning? I know it’s important to monetise to keep the channel going and you both are doing an outstanding job.
What if Sudiksha’s mother or friends were watching this video?

Lessons for all the youngsters ( I followed this story very closely when Investigation was going on):
1) Never get drunk to the point that you have no control over surroundings ( If the waves swept her away, she did not have energy to swim)
2) Never get into one-night stands or hook-ups with strangers as thrilling as it might sound.
3) Never abandon your friends.

I used to live in Virginia and my cousin still lives there. They know someone who knows the Konanki family. This is first hand information. After the father visited the site, he came to the conclusion that Sudiksha got swept away and drowned. ( As some Indians do), they didn't want to get into blame game when there was some negligence on their side. They have 2 more children to raise and wanted to move on with their lives after the realisation that Sudiksha is not coming back. Life is not reality TV and you don't want endless drama.

A young life cut short, tragic for the parents. That’s a void nothing can fill.
My deepest condolences for the parents and the family.

Her new found boy friend either drowned her and came back alone or sold her to human traffickers. Incredibly heartbreaking for the parents.

My theory is that she was swept away by sea and this guy couldn’t save her. He panicked and out of fear went to his room. Shock can make you take wrong decisions or he was so intoxicated that he couldn’t take right decision.
