Personally the Max Hedrom hijacking was likely just a massive expensive prank. If it was meant to be serious the perpetrator could have gone on a political or religious rant. Instead he chose to chuck cans of coke at the screen and laugh, he even said “I've made history” because he knew it would become famous

Everyone focused on Polybius, but no one talks about what happened with Monobius.

He says "carbon monoxide" while showing CO2 on the screen. CO2 is carbon dioxide, hence the 2. Carbon monoxide is just CO.

To save you 20 mins:<br>In 1987, a hacker in a Max Headroom mask briefly hijacked Chicago TV signals in a prank; Toynbee Tiles found across cities were made by a Philadelphia man obsessed with resurrecting the dead via “2001: A Space Odyssey”; the Somerton Man, found dead on an Australian beach in 1948, was likely Carl Webb, who died by poisoning; the fabled arcade game Polybius never existed, born from 1980s gaming myths; the medieval “Green Children of Woolpit” were probably malnourished kids with anemia mistaken for otherworldly beings; and the 1908 Tunguska blast in Siberia was a massive meteor airburst, not a mystery.

Larry Tisch was the man who pulled off the Max Headroom incident. He was head of CBS at the time. He and his brother were crucified in the media for breaking up CBS and selling the different divisions off.
