  I am a Filipino who is now working in the US as a Math teacher. I was crying watching this because I exactly experienced this during my time. I need to go through a certain area that you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. I encountered already snakes many times on my way to school. Now, I am witnessing American kids so blessed that almost everything is provided to them from transportation to a free lunch and some other school materials. During my time one notebook contains all the subjects and that needs to last until the very end of the school year, unbelievable right? But that’s exactly the way it was. Because of those experiences I started dreaming big. Now, I am paying forward everything to some other less fortunate kids regardless of nationality.

  Based on recent issues & scandals in PH budget, that's the result of corruption in this country. Instead of building classrooms/ schools, budget is channeled to scandalous projects. Have more concern & mercy to young school children who spend hours & walk through  mountains to reach their school.  The government must exert more effort to change the pattern. In order To save the present & future generations by giving priority to education.

  Im impressed with the kid, he is communicating in english. Not all filipinos his age is able to speak this good.

  "To protect the Country" that boy will be a Very Good Philippine Army. I am a retired Philippine Army and do you know that  95 percent of the Armed Forces of the Philippines ( Active and Retired) came from different provinces of the Country. What you just witness is only one of the many reason WHY we Filipino Soldiers never give up, surrendering is NOT an option. We adopt,  We improvised. We simplify. We are GOD Fearing People. We Always Smile even in hardship thats what We are.

  This is another level. If going to school with danger along the way but they just  ignore it and continue walking I’m amazed for how fearless these students are. I’m touched & wanted to help the kids!👍🏻🦋

  Its true. Im 29 yrs old now. My parents used to always say "you guys are lucky you ride jeep/ tricycle to school. I used to climb mountain and cross rivers to go to school." Whenever I complain about waking up early and wait for jeep. But those are true. I lived in my moms province in banaue, she had a volunteer brigada in her old H.S., I went with my mom, and we had to hike mountain, and legit cross river (the falls are awesome though) and cross rice paddies to get to the school. It was a fun walk though. I caught frogs, snails, monitor lizard, there were snakes here and there, and going home fireflies are evedywhere. I loved it.
