  Some context for the older woman who can speak jive. &nbsp;Her real name is Barbara Billingsley. &nbsp;She played June Cleaver in Leave It to Beaver in the late 50&apos;s and early 60&apos;s. &nbsp;She was basically America&apos;s tv mom. &nbsp;She was viewed as prim and proper, the mold for a suburban housewife. &nbsp;So it was a real curveball to see her in this role. &nbsp;People absolutely loved it! &nbsp;Years later in an interview, she would say how she got way more fan mail for her role in Airplane than she did for all her other roles!!! &nbsp;To be June Cleaver and more loved for a very small role in this movie is amazing. &nbsp;That&apos;s how big of an impact this movie had.

  The speech the Doctor gave Ted was taken almost word for word from an old Ronald Reagan movie called Knute Rockne: All American. Since Ronald Reagan was running for president at the time, his movies were trending. The line was &quot;Win one for the Gipper.&quot;, in Airplane! it became &quot;Win one for the Zipper.&quot;

  This is the film that practically turned Leslie Nielsen (who was known as a character actor is dramatic movies up until this point) into an overnight comedy star. He made comedies from this point forward up until his death in 2010.

  As a child in the 70s, a flight crew member gave me a quick tour of the cockpit during boarding once. Not a single word was mentioned about gladiator movies, though.😂

  I&apos;m a pilot myself and I can promise it doesn&apos;t matter if you&apos;re working with people in their 20s or 60s, everyone knows the movie and you still get the occasional quotes thrown around at work. I love it.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU7HA6cmRf0&amp;t=1355">22:35</a> &nbsp;Robert Stack played Elliott Ness in a TV series called The Untouchables than ran in the 60&apos;s. &nbsp;That particular line was used several times in that show.
