Rik can play hard rock, jazz, classical and pretty much any genre of guitar. After performing for many years he settled down to record his favs and become a music professor. Now the band is back due to incredible demand. He is and remains a rock god.

Rik Emmett is one of the most insanely talented guitarist on the planet. He could play everything from Priest type Heavy Metal, to intricate Wes Montgomery jazz chords and progressions, to medieval renaissance music, to heavy blues. Rik Emmett could play it all while singing with his insane vocals. Mike Levine the bass player had that heavy low end melodic approach, and in my opinion, one of the best bass players of his era, along with playing keyboards in a live setting, and Gil Moore is a powerhouse drummer whose studio and live sound was some of the best drumming I have heard, especially in a live setting while also singing lead vocals on half of Triumph's catalog. Gil Moore is also the founder and head of Metalworks Studio, one of the biggest recording studios in North America, that has recorded everything from Taylor Swift to Rush. If you go down the Triumph rabbit hole, you'll not be dissappointed.

The upper neck is 12 strings. The lower neck is standard 6 strings. He switched back and forth depending on the sound he wants at different points in the song. Alex Lifeson of Rush used a double neck for some of their songs, such as Xanadu.

Triumph is on tour right now in Canada and US this Spring / Summer. First tour since the 90's . I know April Wine is with them for at least some of the shows . Not sure if April Wine will be at every show.😊

Another amazing Canadian trio. The drummer Gil is also a stellar singer and takes the lead sometimes. Hold on, Magic Power, Fight the good fight (about his aunt fighting cancer) are good, too.

One of my favorites. Underrated. And we used to call them the cheap rush. It rocks for just 3 dudes
