She died last year, RIP 💐 ma'am. She taught people how to love and that too scientifically which was great. One must read her work.

Holy cow, I would've guessed she was mid 60s, not almost 80. What a lively and lovely woman.

How bittersweet that Helen found love again and died so soon after. Thanks for enlightening us, Helen!

Top 5 things singles are looking for: somebody who respects them, somebody who they can trust and confide in, somebody who makes them laugh, somebody who makes time for them, and somebody they’re physically attracted to

The fact that love is a drive makes sense when you consider how dumb, awkward, and unfocused we become when we fall in love. For some time, only that person exists. Personally, I actually enjoy the absence of those overwhelming and destabilizing feelings.

I liked how she said “it is possible to be in love long term, but it’s gotta be with the right person.” I’m sure she has enough data to be able to say that. Listen.

I graduate University in a year and I remember the day I discovered her work, she was the reason I started studying Biological Anthropology. Rest in Peace Dr. Fisher ❤

Its so refreshing to finally see an anthropologist who has studied human evolution speak of the equality and mutual respect between the sexes that existed in hunter gatherer societies. Biology doesn't have to be at odds with social equality. Men and women are different, but there is still individual variation, and we are still equals. Too many "evolutionary psychologists" on YouTube trying to use this science to suggest that "feminism was a mistake!!!!" these days.
