  Wreck-It Ralph was such a good homage to Donkey Kong that DK himself became Ralph in response, complete with Pauline somehow becoming Vannelope.

  While I personally do prefer bananza over odyssey the main problem bananza runs into is that &quot;doing things your own way&quot; can very quickly boil down into clap look for a banana outline and dig towards it. &nbsp;And while the digging is fun it&apos;s not actually an interesting solution or at least it&apos;s far less interesting then the actual puzzle/platforming that the game actually planned you to do.<br>It to an extent boils down to do you prefer the excitement of realizing you could find a unique way to do something vs actually getting to do the more interesting thing.

  Really minor thing but helping a monkey to get bananas feels like a worthier pursuit than helping a plumber to get a moon. Mario only collects as a means to an end. DK craves the bananas and he deserves to have them.
