  When someone is ready to breakdown mentally the person is not in the right mind. She is a professional and should know that calling the suicide hotline is worthless. I called the hotline and told her I was worried, couldn’t sleep and my husband wasn’t home and I was watching the clock waiting for him to get home. The girl told me “don’t look at the clock then”😢<br>I feel so bad for Lindsay. One day you could say you’re fine and then your brain is whacked out.

  I don’t think anyone but someone who has has suicidal ideation knows what it’s actually like. One day you can have those thoughts and one day you don’t. It’s always there, just managed. Sometimes you’re too afraid of judgement to even say “yes.” This Dr knows this very well. Anything can change with just one thought. Even if you’ve had the best day ever, it can come in a blink of an eye.

  Despite a patient being knowledgeable about meds, you should STILL get an ROI signed to communicate with the other provider to ensure the information you’re getting is accurate. Basically you’ve got two providers prescribing meds and not communicating with each other.

  While everyone is already outraged, I should tell you most people with mental health issues see their Primary Care Doctor or at best a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I&apos;ve met people taking psych medication for more than 10 years who have never saw a actual Psychiatric trained Provider.

  Our mental health system is a mess. If you tell them, you’re suicidal they throw you into a hospital that offers no help except drugging you up so they can get you out of there as soon as possible. If you don’t tell them, you’re suicidal then you don’t get the help that you need when you actually are suicidal.<br>There needs to be a safe place where you can talk about having suicidal feelings without being committed and subsequently drugged up or losing your kids because you’re telling them you’re having homicidal thoughts.

  LC should not have been drinking alcohol on those medications. I didn’t know she was drinking that much and daily. Wow.

  If she found some relief from the Ativan, why not keep it on board for awhile? The medication was doing exactly what it was designed to do. So why not continue to use that tool, along with others to reach some longerterm stability ?

  Asking questions to someone mentally unwell you’re not likely to get answers. She asked to be admitted, she should have been admitted end of. Mental health illness postpartum should be treated with extra caution
