  So many of the smaller battles and skirmishes are simply not covered in the history books. This channel helps tie together the big battles and understand why they turned out the way they did.

  I live near Drewery&apos;s Bluff and it is a very well preserved spot, considering how obscure, yet critical this battle was. &nbsp;Thank you to the National Park Service for saving this from development. There were quite a few pictures of the fort/bluff, river with obstructions and surrounding area you posted which I had never seen before so excellent job on that. &nbsp;Great presentation capturing the background and importance of one of our best kept little secrets around here (there&apos;s only about 6 parking spots!).

  Excellent over view of the battle - learned more about the battle than when I lived in Richmond for a year. I visited Drewery’s bluff at least 30 times - usually being the only one there &nbsp;- my dogs loved running all around the fort and rough housing with each other. Great view of the James River - easy to see how you could bottle it up and stop advancement up the river to Richmond from the bluff.

  If we’re Grant the war might have ended right there. Yet we would have needed another Grant to finish off Vicksburg.

  You gotta do more naval engagements of the Civil War it&apos;s a grossly miss represented theater and you do it justice with your video style

  This action was such a long-shot using such a tiny force (only a single ship could even target the fort); and yet it ALMOST made it all the way to Richmond. &nbsp;I would think this &apos;should&apos; illustrate how perilous the position was for the rebellious states for (almost) the entire war.
