  Everyone keeps forgetting how much access to Jedi knowledge Luke actually had. In Legends, he obtained several Holocrons, including the Great Holocron. He did find a great number of books in the lost library of Osis. Force knows what he found in Mount Tantis after they excavated it. He also met a few living Jedi, who were fully trained in the Temple. <br>In Disney canon, he had all of the accumulated knowledge Jocasta Nu saved from the Temple, and there was a lot of it.

  I am reminded of the video game Jedi Academy. Luke is the leader of the school and the player unlocks Medium, Fast, and Strong style as lightsaber move sets as the game progresses.

  Many fans don&apos;t know in Legends Luke even perfected a 4th, super dangerous form: extra medium style 🤯 He deemed it too deadly to be taught.. It isn&apos;t a story a jedi would tell you..

  As a real world martial artist of nearly 40 years I can tell you that fighters change their perspective on methods both as they grow in knowledge and also as they age. How you fight in year 5 of training will be vastly different than how you do in year 25. Ultimately, it is up to each fighter to find what will work best for them after much training and experimenting. You should learn all you can and be open-minded about methods before discarding them. Something you hated early on might just be your own ego and bias not allowing you to understand. And later in that technique will make sense and have a place in your arsenal

  I really liked the fight Bane and Zannah had against the Jedi on Tython in Rule of Two. It went into detail about Zannah positioning herself in the corner to maximize the defensiveness of her Soresu form. It allowed her to hold off a much stronger Jedi long enough to successfully use her Sith sorcery against him.

  I think it&apos;s interesting that Darth Bane says that anything not devoted to taking your opponent out is unnecessary, both taught Soresu to his apprentice Darth Zannah and had such a mastery of the form that he could walk through a rain storm without getting wet by deflecting each individual droplet with his lightsaber. I think his actions and choices speak louder than his words and that he absolutely appreciates the need for defence in a duel. Luke was simply more honest in his musings on paper.

  So we have Darth Bane who was an advocate for mastering two lightsaber forms and that studying all seven styles was excessive. <br><br>Then, we have Count Dooku who vouched that one should master and elevate a single form rather than mix and match them into a hybrid technique.<br><br>An intriguing contrast of philosophy.

  The lightsaber learning techniques I would put people through as a Jedi would be this:<br><br>Learn shi cho first to master all fundamentals and this is 70% of your learning initially (this is what Qui Gon did to Obi Wan) and then learn a second style which comprises of 30% of your time <br><br>Once shi cho is fully mastered, spend Time on your second form and then learn a third that’s contradictory, so if soresu learn djem so <br><br>And if makashi then learn Ataru<br><br>So you master the fundamentals and two forms that contradict each other which allows you to learn the rest if need be to help your style develop faster <br><br>If training soresu or sequences try lifting up small rocks at the same time to develop force mastery (using force abilities in the middle of combat is extremely hard to do so this will help with that later on and will increase your force power)<br><br>Only learn Niman if you’re a diplomat or if you’ve failed your trials and aren’t strong in combat <br><br>Only master Niman at the end when you’ve mastered forms 1-5 and then learn form 6 to integrate your forms <br><br>Then if you really feel like it master form 7 Juyo without falling to the dark side (Cin Drallig did this) and master Vaapad if you want to <br><br>Then trakata and jar Kai

  A classic real-world example of simplification of a traditional martial art for more practical real-world combat is the Japanese military&apos;s transition from Jiujitsu to Judo. Ironically, unlike Darth Bane, Kano Jigoro focused on techniques that relied less heavily on brute strength.
