In the books if I remember correctly Sherlock and Moriarty fell to their deaths but after such an uproar from fans the ending was sort of changed to imply Sherlock survived

Jared Harris, one of my favourite actors. Saw him in Fringe, just fantastic.

The entire cast was perfect. And getting Jared Harris to play Prof. Moriarity was brilliant. That man just chews up ANY scene he is in.

I kinda like that Moriarity's aims were fairly simple: get lots of money. Yes he was larger-than-life in terms of his web of control, international scale. But it can feel unrelatable when a villain has abstract global aims (like later Mission Impossible or Fast & Furious villains). Just wanting to own the bandages & bullets is keen enough to go along with the intricacy of his methods. And yeah, love how they establish Mary's respect for Sherlock (and his care for her) with limited moments, along with her agency here. Felt like a team.

This movie hit like a sledgehammer in IMAX. The cannon scene in the woods knocked my socks off, literally. Never found them again.

"Sherlock is always, always, always working."

Except when he's not. Then he's alone at 221B Baker Street, experimenting on poor Gladstone and driving his landlady insane. Like The Doctor from Doctor Who, Sherlock really doesn't handle idleness or loneliness well. Now that I think about it, the two characters have A LOT in common.

one of my favorite movies, the filming is amazing, I also love how the characters Holmes and Watson really look like the ones in the books

Most people never realize that Jared Harris is the first Dumbledore's (Richard Harris) son. As great as his father was (Cromwell for example), imo Jared has surpassed him. I particularly loved him in The Expanse.

I found it amusing that the music played while Sherlock was riding the mule was taken from 'Two mules for Sister Sara', a 1970 movie starring Clint Eastwood and Shirley Maclaine. Shirley was riding the mule. You might enjoy it.
