  I can see your lovely wife Amber shedding and wiping away tears because of how much this songs reminds her about her parents&apos; home and the love and upbringing she had with them. Those are great memories to have and a song like this brings it all Home...Pardon the pun. <br>Great reaction to one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. Rest in Peace John Denver for you are truly missed. &nbsp;You left us all a legacy of great music and song which has left an indelible impression on us all.

  This song always brings a tear.... in a good way. Most of his songs do actually. Amber, I have never wanted to give you a hug more than when you were talking about your homeplace, and then, to see the tears during the chorus.... broke my heart. &nbsp;I felt the same way when my grandfather sold my grandparent&apos;s house. I drove by a few years ago and didn&apos;t even recognize it. That&apos;s a deep, deep hurt but hang on to all the good memories. They&apos;re what will get you through.

  Amber, I&apos;ve said it before, I love your sweet, sentimental, tender heart. &nbsp;I grew up right on the very edge of my hometown. Immediately beyond my back yard was the city limits, a large family farm with a huge red barn, a gentle, peaceful pond for swimming and fishing, horses in a pasture. It was a fairytale kind of life, though it was actually my real life. &nbsp;Like almost everyone, I left one day for college, life, marriage, journeys and adventures. Now, at age 72, I have returned home, bought an old store building where I built a living quarters, a small rental apartment, and a home recording studio. But you know what, Amber? I can stand at my kitchen window &nbsp;doing dishes, and look straight down the road at the house I grew up in. The neighborhood is almost exactly as it was when I first came to live here in 1958 as a 7 year-old wide-eyed little boy. Sometimes I finish the dishes, and just stand there anyway, watching the wind blow the trees&apos; leaves, watching the 3rd generation of children on bicycles playing just as we did those many years ago. &nbsp;And like you, this old neighborhood is indeed like an old friend. God bless you and your family. Never forget where you came from.

  John Denver&apos;s vibrato is underrated. The purity of his voice hides the skill with which he uses it.

  In 1974, I joined the Army 10 days out of high school.<br>5 months later with my training completed, I took my first leave.<br>Got to my folks house late at night.<br>Went to bed. Woke up the next morning. Reached over and turned on the clock radio. This song was playing and it was the first time I ever heard it.<br>I was numb in shock.<br>Timing is everything!

  I continue to tell friends that RSR reactions are by far the best. Why? Amber. She is so unafraid to show emotion. Whether it is laughter, happiness, sadness...whatever, she lays it right out there. It&apos;s a beautiful thing to see. Someone so in tune with the music they&apos;re listening to is a rarity today.
