So sieht Quantenphysiker Anton Zeilinger die Welt | Sternstunde Religion | SRF Kultur

He persevered on his path, and in the end, he received the Nobel Prize for it. Anton Zeilinger is a quantum physicist, meaning he studies the smallest particles in the world, but he also keeps the big picture in mind. For him, religion and science are not contradictory. Topics in this episode: 00:00 Does life change with a Nobel Prize? 10:00 How does a quantum physicist see the world? 27:25 What happens during teleportation, and why isn't it possible (yet)? 39:00 What do you discuss with the Dalai Lama? 51:10 What is God's role in the universe? 🔔 Subscribe to SRF Kultur Sternstunden on YouTube now 👉 https://www.youtube.com/srfkultur?sub... As a child, he took apart his sister's dolls to find out how they were constructed. Today, he beams the tiniest particles of matter under the Danube or meets with the Dalai Lama to introduce him to the world of quantum physics. For the current Nobel laureate, nothing is more fulfilling than revealing the beauty of formulas to others. The fact that these investigations also lead to the most fundamental limits of natural science, for example when it comes to chance, spurs Zeilinger on all the more. It is precisely there, he believes, that theology finds its place. For the quantum physicist, a contradiction between religion and natural science exists only when both overstep the boundaries of their respective domains. Does God intervene in the world? Where do the laws of nature come from? And what drives Zeilinger's thirst for knowledge? Olivia Röllin in conversation with the 2022 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Anton Zeilinger.
