Fascinating to hear Mr. Bernstein's recollections. It's validating to hear his take on the movie. They both opened Pandora's box and exposed a totally unexpected conspiracy of huge proportions.

This interview took place in 2017. The abuse of power going on in the White house and Supreme Court and Republican party by 2026 is a hundred times worse than anything Dick Nixon carried on. We need Woodward and Bernstein and Bradlee NOW.

Thanks for this. Bernstein has a down-to-earth quality. HIs testimony lucidly adds perspective to events of the time as well as contemporary events. That point he makes about Goldwater convincing Nixon to resign, not because it was the right thing to do, but because he would be convicted, was because REPUBLICANS understood the crime he had committed. They stood up, and that protected their moral authority. When Republicans failed to stand up to Trump, that destroyed their moral authority

I remember this unfolding when I was in high school. I didn’t appreciate it as much then as I do now! Great interview!😊

I've now watched both Bob & Carl's interviews & whilst they're different in outward style & personas, both have this dogged determination & a shared love of getting to the crux of the story. Both are also excellent interviewees.

Thank you for sharing these historical interviews.

Bernstein is delightful to listen to and a great storyteller. I love his description of Woodward’s writing as “lugubrious,” which would apply to the man as well. He’s so heavy and wooden and graceless and indeed lugubrious that his interviews are impossible to slog through. He is nothing if not determined and prolific however, if not particularly readable. Bernstein is the writer of that group.

I just watched a segment of William F Buckley's Firing Line from 1974 with Woodward and Bernstein. Dustin Hoffman actually got Bernsteins mannerisms and way of speaking correct. He doesn't sound like that anymore, probably the cumulative effect of ciggies, but he had that sort of mumbly way of talking that I always thought was purely a Hoffman construction but it wasn't.

Terrific presentation. So much is at stake in our would be democracy. This drives home the point.
