So many of you have asked me how you can support me or give a little gift. So, I’ve put together an Amazon wishlist: https://a.co/5bGdTX6
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of me and supporting me in this way! Your support makes everything I do here possible, and I appreciate each and every one of you. ❤

At first glance, the total length appears to be 2 pi + 6.
On each circle, the curved section of the rope covers one-third of the circumference. Therefore, the total length for the three curved sections is 3 ( 2 pi / 3). The three straight sections each have a length of 2 (the diameter), totaling 3 ( 2 ) = 6.
Adding these together, the final answer is 2 pi + 6.

This is used a lot in engineering to calculate lengths of belts around pulleys and chains, rope in lifting mechanisms. We use formulae most of the time. Thank you Susanna. 🐞

a practical use of this calculation is, when you install a power electrical circuit in an industry the cables have sizes that have to be single cables forming a 3 phase circuit, and these cables have to be tied up with a cable tie, so we have to calculate the lenght of the cable tie that go around the 3 cables

In machining, we use trig and geometry problems like this all the time, and it's usually my favorite part of a job.

It’s probably been 30 years since I’ve done any of the math in your videos. Your videos have been a fun refresher and I’m pleased that I can still solve many of them on my own - pretty quickly too. You are so good at explaining the solutions, I think most students would benefit from watching your videos. Thank you.

I feel so smart just by following it along even thought I couldn't do it myself 😂 Thank you for the (as always) excellent explanation!

The thing i like about these videos is the way the teacher pulls out all the (non-obvious) details before trying to do anything mathematical. That helps me to see how great math is for teaching me to think differently. I'm older & not good at math so when we got to the end & @MathQueenSusanne started explaining that we could just add up the (partial circles via angles) into 1 circle I thought she was saying that one large circle could be made by connecting all three partial circles. I couldn't see how that would be true. Finally, after staring a long time at it, I saw that she meant that since 120 deg is 1/3 of any circle that we could calculate the circumference of the entire circle that had a radius of 2. Wow, that took me a while. Thanks for great explanations.

Suzanna, your videos are now a part of my morning routine. First I solve the New York Times Wordle game and then move on to your math problems. So fun and really gets my brain moving.
