  Thank you C-Span for showing both the nominee AND the senator who was speaking. Most of the streams just showed Pete Hegseth and it was hard to keep track of what senator asked a question.

  THE POINT OF HAVING DEFENSE SECRETARIES and other dept. head positions is to ENSURE that EXPERTS in that field are placed so that the President has appropriate guidance and safeguards from making unlawful decisions. ALL soldiers are suppose to have loyalty to the constitution above all. Which requires and allows for disobeying orders that would bring disgrace and are unlawful. It is an aid for checks and balances.
