In the Queen's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza, there's a shaft barely 20 centimeters square that runs diagonally up the rock face and leads nowhere. It had been sealed at both ends for 4,500 years. No one has ever been able to enter, because no human being can fit through it. In 1993, the German engineer Rudolf Gantenbrink built a robot that climbed 63 meters through this tunnel and found something at the end: a polished limestone slab with two copper handles. A doorway. He asked permission to look behind it, and a week later he was told to pack up his robot and leave. In this history and archaeology documentary, we follow the complete story of this shaft, from the crack that Wayman Dixon discovered in the wall in 1872 to the Djedi robot, coordinated by the University of Leeds, which in 2010 inserted a flexible camera through the hole drilled in 2002 and was finally able to rotate and look around. We recount exactly what that chamber behind the door recorded: the red ochre markings on the floor, including a number (121) that matches the exact length of the shaft in actual cubits, a work note left by the builders 45 centuries ago; and the detail that disproves the word "door": the two copper handles pierce the stone and curve behind it, and the hidden side of the plaque is polished, even though no one would ever see it. We review the three hypotheses about the purpose of these shafts (functional, symbolic-astronomical, and that of a hidden chamber, which has no proof), and we tell the incredible subplot of Dixon's cedar: a fragment taken from the shaft in 1872, lost for 70 years, rediscovered in 2020 in a cigar box at the University of Aberdeen, and radiocarbon dated to a date EARLIER than the pyramid itself (with its real explanation).
