I cannot explain my total fascination with the American early frontier n its “characters”….i have watched every movie made about the James ….have several audiobooks about the West…with the great “ voices” chosen to narrate the books, I enjoy the retelling….my education in Jamaica in Primary n High School, covered our West Indian history, n of course British n European n our African history….now, in my dotage, am enamoured of the time period of my favourite childhood TV shows, Westerns🙏❤️👍🏽🇯🇲

This movie was made 11 yrs before I was born and I had never seen it before. This was wonderful. I miss movies like this. Haven't been to any movies in years. Thank you for sharing this!

Use of shadows and light vs dark by Fritz Lang are atypical for a Western. Looks great.

Love the play within a play around 35:00 and the echoes of the Lincoln assassination.

Magnificent movie, one of the best Fonda ever made. Astonishing quality. If made in B & W they did a perfect job of colorising.

So many of these interesting films on You Tube omit the opening credits. Is this necessary?

This film is full of drama & surprises, well played by Fonda & Tierney, with moments of court humor? I think Fonda & Tierney should have parted with a kiss though at the end instead of just a handshake , after everything that transpired?
