This piece is almost surreal. Even when the music is ostensibly joyful, there’s always the unsettling sense of darkness looming over. But by the finale, that inevitabkle darkness slowly disintegrates into pure light and you’re carried to another dimension. It’s so beautiful.

Le jardin féerique est l'un des plus beaux moments d'enchantement musical qui existent.

The last section was so breathtaking it's difficult to express one's feelings after hearing it.

Ravel devastates me. Every piece is soul crushing/affirming. And this performance does not give me any refuge. Haha

I have often felt that the last movement is like ascending in to heaven.

I wonder if we can ever be as enchanted by the world as Ravel was again… heartwrenching beauty. Where has it gone?

For me, Ravel will always be the sorcerer of music. There is always something magical about his music, and this score superbly delineates it. Bravo to Conductor and Orchestra for so fully falling under his spell.

Ravel was just a genius, there is none of his music that I don't like and a lot that I adore. This piece falls very much into the second category.
