I misheard that as “peculiar Whistler noises” and thought the guy heard someone in the woods say “I need to start a new channel.”

Its pretty amazing if Gary was taking care of Ted for three months. That would mean he was somehow keeping it together while off his anti-psychotics for that long. If that's what happened he's a tragic hero.

Regarding the disability hate.....my dad is someone like that. He believes that disabled people shouldn't be out in public. Seeing disabled people makes hime DEEPLY UNCOMFORTABLE. He's old now and needs mobility aides, but REFUSES to use them in public. Even a cane (which to me seems like the least offensive mobility aide). He needs to seem fully mobile and in control. it's utterly exhausting.

I first heard of this story on The Lore Lodge. Their theory, is that something happened to cause the men to run for their lives up the mountain. Jack and Bill died while running, the other three made it to the cabin. Gary knowing he needed his medicine, left to find help after making sure Jackie and Ted had enough food for until he came back. Unfortunately, likely due to the weather, Gary never made it so Jackie went to get help but succumbed to the elements.

People learning about ugly laws is always so fun.

- a disabled person who'd definitely break them.

A note on Gary’s state on mind at the trailer: going cold turkey from mental health drugs would have been a hell in itself. Given the trauma of whatever happened and his medication leaving his system would have left him in such a state that I’m not surprised by the items used or not at the trailer.

I had a Lebanese assistant manager and a Persian cashier. They were very uncomfortable when I hired an autistic guy. I couldn’t figure it out. They both later told me that where they came from, people with mental disabilities stayed home. That’s where they belonged. They both ended up liking him, but having never been around anybody autistic, they basically assumed he was crazy. The never interacting with them before was a big part of it.
