  Descendants 4 also completely ditches the idea that the villains were revived by having everyone attend the same school. It also doesn't make sense that it was one generation after the Disney movies when Mulan and Hades are from ancient times, while Tiana and Peter Pan are or take place from the 1920s.

  The fact that in descendants the parents are, Maleficent, Jafar, the Evil Queen all very powerful magic users, and then they just have Cruella DeVil absolutely sends me

  Honestly Descendants threw me off from the very first movie.  The main love story being manifested from a forced love potion always made the relationship feel gross and abusive. That and a lot of the Disney parents were wildly out of character. And maybe a nitpicking on my part, I never liked Adam and Belle having a son. After that line from Gaston in the movie about 6 or 7 boys I always felt a daughter would be more narratively satisfying.

  I felt like the lore and world building of Ever After High was more consistent and deep than Descendants. I watched Descendats for a good time, not heavy world building compared to E/A where I was obsessed with uncovering the world

  I very much agree cuz I feel like in Ever After High the Royals and Rebels made a lot more sense being separated than in descendants where it's just the kids of the heroes and the kids of the villains being separated because at least in Ever After you need to follow your destiny but it doesn't really make sense why the villain kids are even on that island because yes they are related to their parents but why exactly would they be on there if they haven't done anything bad

  I love Ever After High. I was hyped and waiting for the crossover with Monster High. Disney can be such a party pooper. Like they couldn't let Mattel just have the money. Disney could've done something similar like what I've been thinking. Instead of children of said character it could a character legacy personification stuffed into a Disney storybook where the legacy becomes a character inhabiting the storybook world of what is basically the Disney parks combined in to mega park literally call Disneyland it could promote their movies and their parks at the sametime.

  Let&apos;s be honest, my main question for Descendants 4 is: Why is the FAIRY GODMOTHER a STUDENT at the SAME SCHOOL AS CINDERELLA!? The woman is old and Cinderella was a teenager, and don&apos;t come and say that she could be the teacher, because it was clear that she looked like a student both because she was clumsy in magic and because of the actress, but at least the actress was brilliant, like, the original Fairy Godmother and the teenager are SO similar that it&apos;s crazy lol 😅 <br>But yeah, this whole idea in Descendants 4 where there was a school for the good guys and bad guys is so nonsensical, There are several facts that break the time of the story, like, the ages, the events in each story, they made Rapunzel as a student even though she was trapped in a tower since her childhood... They made Aladdin and Jasmine dating, but the worst part was putting JALADDIN as the ship name... WHILE THAT DIDN&apos;T EVEN EXIST IN THEIR TIME! 😭😭😭<br>Anyway, Ever After High had a much better context for the Royals and Rebels, they were children of fairy tales, so the &quot;villains&quot; are only called that because of the destiny their parents chose, but the cool thing is that there&apos;s that whole thing about following your destiny and the Rebels don&apos;t want that, that&apos;s why they are the Rebels, the Royals want to follow their destinies, but as it was for Apple before, some Royals were probably like that because their fate would be easy, Briar simply threw in a &quot;that&apos;s easy for you to say Apple, how many days are you going to sleep for? 1 week?&quot;<br>Like, this is so real, Apple will only sleep until her prince arrives, which is pretty quick, Briar will sleep for 100 years if I remember correctly, It was so realistic and even satisfying to hear that, it shows that it&apos;s easy to want your destiny when you&apos;re not going to suffer to get a happy ending, But what about those who will suffer and not even have a happy ending? I really like Ever After High for that reason

  The thing that infuriates me about Descendants, especially Descendants 4, the most is that they imply that Hades, a literal GOD, is the same age as Maleficent and Captain Hook and so on. I ranted so much about that

  Before I even start the video: EAH eats Descendants alive because it&apos;s actually interested in exploring its themes and world. Descendants seems to despise its own world building and lore. Retconning things like magic not working on the Isle and then saying &quot;&quot;evil&quot;&quot; magic doesn&apos;t work on the Isle. It also created an inherently political story and then had the nerve to get antsy when they actually had to commentate over anything in favor of giving Mal the world and a bag of chips. I still love Descendants but I think 30% of that is nostalgia, 50% of it being recency bias since it lasted longer than EAH, 8% being it&apos;s good schlock, and 2% of it being the aesthetic.
