Satoru Gojo left a tremendous impression on me in both anime and manga of Jujutsu Kaisen. His faith in the next generation of Jujutsu Sorcerers to protect humanity was wholesome and undoubtedly.

Satoru Gojo, probably the only manga/anime character whose death I can't get over... It doesn't make sense..

The strongest is also the loneliest. Gojo Satoru is not only powerful, he is a prisoner of who he is.

I don’t know why, maybe it’s from reading all the comments here, or the picture you have used (awesome choice btw) that helped fuel my emotions, but the music you arranged for Satoru sounds so lonely that I started to cry almost immediately. And I can feel that loneliness, that solitude. Great work, dude. This is truly beautiful.

    The city pulsed beneath him.

Satoru Gojo sat perched upon the ledge of a towering skyscraper — one so high that the air was thinner, colder, and more honest. From here, Tokyo stretched endlessly, a sea of lights and movement that almost mocked him. The streets were alive: horns, chatter, flashing billboards, the ceaseless flow of humanity going about its night, unaware of the man sitting above it all — the strongest sorcerer alive, hunched like a ghost among the stars.

The wind tugged at his white hair, sending loose strands fluttering against the black cloth that wrapped around his eyes. His blindfold was damp now. He hadn’t realized when the tears began, only that they refused to stop. They slid beneath the fabric, tracing cold lines down his face before vanishing into the high collar of his coat. Each one burned.

He sat there silently, legs dangling over the edge, his posture deceptively relaxed. Anyone else would’ve thought he was just admiring the view. That was how he liked it — to look untouchable. To look like the same cocky, smug, impossible Gojo Satoru who smiled at death and teased the world itself. But tonight, the mask slipped.

“…Suguru…” The name escaped his lips in a breath, so soft it almost vanished into the wind.

His voice cracked.

The name hung there, trembling in the night air, before fading into the roar of the city below. For a long moment, Gojo didn’t move. His fingers curled loosely against the concrete ledge, gripping it just enough to remind himself he was still there — still tethered to something. But even that felt wrong. Empty. Like holding onto a life that didn’t belong to him anymore.

He tilted his head back toward the sky, the endless expanse of stars blurring behind his blindfold. The moonlight brushed over him, pale and indifferent.

He had once shared this very view. Years ago.

He could still see it — two young men sitting atop a half-finished building, sharing drinks and laughter that echoed over the city. Suguru had leaned back, eyes reflecting the lights below, talking about the future with that calm certainty he always carried. And Gojo, of course, had teased him, saying things like “You sound like an old man, Geto.” They’d laughed. The world back then felt endless, their bond unbreakable.

Now, those same memories pressed into him like knives.

Gojo’s hands trembled slightly. He remembered Suguru’s smile — the real one, not the cruel smirk twisted by ideals and loss. The soft, tired one that appeared after missions, when they’d walk home under the same streetlights that now glimmered far below him. He remembered the quiet between them — how it never felt awkward, how it felt like home.

Then came the image he could never erase — Suguru standing opposite him, eyes cold, words final. That day when ideals collided and friendship shattered. Gojo had tried to understand, tried to reach him, but he was too late. Too slow, despite being the fastest.

He could still hear the sound. The sound of that final moment — the sound that ended everything.

“Why did you have to go that far…?” Gojo whispered to the wind, though he knew there would be no answer.

The guilt clawed at him, raw and merciless. For all his strength, for all the limitless power that bent reality to his will, he hadn’t been able to save the one person who mattered most. It was ironic. The world saw him as untouchable, invincible — yet the strongest sorcerer could not protect a single friend from his own pain.

He laughed bitterly, the sound breaking halfway through. It wasn’t his usual carefree laugh — this one was sharp, hollow, painful. “I can stop curses, kill monsters, even tear apart space itself… but I couldn’t stop *you.*”

A faint pulse of cursed energy rippled from him as his control wavered. The air shimmered, distorting faintly around him, as if reality itself wept in sympathy. But he quickly pulled it back, forcing his composure. Gojo Satoru couldn’t afford to lose control, not even in grief.

Still, the memories refused to quiet.

He thought about how Suguru used to walk beside him, matching his stride. How they’d shared jokes only the two of them understood. How Suguru would roll his eyes every time Gojo said something absurd, pretending to be annoyed but secretly amused. Those little moments — stupid, meaningless things — had become the ghosts that haunted him.

The city lights blurred again behind his blindfold, not because of distance, but because his eyes were wet once more.

“Are you watching me, Suguru?” Gojo murmured, barely audible. “Do you see what I’ve become? This… empty version of myself that keeps pretending?”

His heart ached, an emotion so unfamiliar it scared him. For years, he’d built walls — arrogance, humor, indifference — anything to keep from feeling this. But now, alone under the stars, they crumbled. His chest felt heavy, his throat tight.

He rested his chin on his knees, curling slightly, like a boy trying to make himself smaller against the vastness of the night. The wind howled louder now, carrying with it faint sounds of laughter from below — people living, loving, moving forward.

He envied them.

He wondered what Suguru would’ve said if he could see him like this. Probably something sarcastic. Maybe he’d laugh. Maybe he’d say, “You’re supposed to be the strongest, Satoru. Get it together.”

Gojo smiled weakly at the thought. His lips trembled. “You’d probably scold me for crying, huh?”

His fingers brushed over the edge of his blindfold, feeling the wetness that clung to it. For a second, he considered taking it off — letting the world see his eyes, the truth behind them. But no. That was his last mask. The last barrier between the world and his grief.

The night stretched on. He sat there for what felt like hours, lost in the storm of his own thoughts. Beneath the noise of the city, beneath the weight of his power, all he could feel was that quiet, unbearable longing.

He wanted his friend back. Not as the enemy he had to kill, not as a ghost that lingered in dreams, but as the boy who once smiled beside him.

The boy who understood him better than anyone ever could.

Finally, he exhaled, long and slow. “I miss you,” he said simply. No grand speech, no poetic flourish — just truth. Pure, unguarded truth.

And for a brief moment, he swore he felt something — a faint warmth in the wind, like a memory brushing against him. A whisper that wasn’t there but felt real enough to make his heart skip.

Then it was gone.

Gojo remained still, the night swallowing his silence. The city moved on beneath him — unaware, uncaring — and he let it. Somewhere below, someone laughed. Somewhere else, someone cried. Life continued. But above it all, on the edge of the world, sat one man who carried the weight of everything he’d lost.

His blindfold dried under the cold wind, but his heart didn’t.
Not yet.
Not ever.

“Goodnight, Suguru,” he whispered to the stars.
And the city lights flickered in reply — like they, too, remembered.
