  So I’m a meteorologist and when I retired from my previous position I had a company I had never heard of approach me and make me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Turns out one of their clients was on my emergency situation briefings and when I asked why they wanted me so badly I was told, “You get to the point, without technical jargon, you explain the impacts and get down to what’s important for the listener.” &nbsp;Sounds like we are of the same ilk which is why I love your videos! <br><br>College kids this is the way to show your mastery of the subject, taking highly technical subjects and explaining them so your grandmother can understand them!

  I&apos;m a former English teacher. Now, I&apos;m writer and editor. You are absolutely correct to use ordinary language, humor and simple examples to explain economics. My editing isn&apos;t correcting punctuation. It&apos;s mostly getting professionals out of their professional lingo and -- forgive me here -- &nbsp;moderating their &quot;professor&quot; voices. Word choice is everything, everywhere, in every situation.

  I wash my hands, even when I have not just visited the dunny. I brush my teeth and floss even on vacation, even when camping. I followed the advice of economists, well Warren Buffet (does he count?). So I listened to my economics teacher at uni, took the company match, always put the max in the 401K and was ready to retire at 57. The company I worked at gave me a choice of phun jobs, delaying my departure until 62. Now I live comfortably in the desert, with all my teeth, good health doing exactly what I want. Thanx Economists! &nbsp;PS. Been to Oz 5 times and PNG 4 times, even seen a Platypus and a salty!

  Good keynote. &nbsp;When I was in college, &nbsp;an introductory course in statistics was mandatory for my major. &nbsp;It was taught by the head of the department. &nbsp;He spent most of the semester teaching us how the choice of the statistical model could color your results. In that way we could spot weakness in the premise before even reading the results. &nbsp;Where I take issue with your keynote is that there is an assumption that economists agree with each other and you all should be clearer in your teaching styles. &nbsp;But you have only to look at this administration, &nbsp;or economics in other countries to realize that they are taking the same set of facts and squeezing them through the sausage maker that is statistics to produce different outcomes. &nbsp;So, from my armchair I would propose that not only do you do all the things you outline, but also teach how the raw data was processed for consumption and why that model is stronger and truer than someone else&apos;s.

  Your keynote speech was proof of how &quot;communications&quot; is key to success. Academia values how many degrees or papers one has written. It is a self centered unit that lives in a hypothetical bubble world far above the average humans. The knowledge is proprietary and spewed out to confuse or point out how stupid people are. I hope your real world delivery and logic break through, at a minimum, to some of members of the audience so they too can help individuals act intellectually to manage and understand economics of today and tomorrow. Well done Justin 🎉🎉🎉
