Although I live in a village a few miles from Faversham I went to school there and spent much of my youth exploring the creek and the marshes. The Shipwright's Arms in the marshes is a lovely pub, so is The Bear, my favourite but don't forget The Market Inn with a garden with Bat & Trap in the summer. In The Mall is The Elephant, a free house and is another fine local pub. I now come to Faversham to visit my doctor and to ring church bells at St Mary of Charity Church which is right next to my old school. Even though I think I know Faversham fairly well every time I visit I see something new or discover another secret place.
