Op is doing the right thing. Practicing the 3 D's, Documentation, Documentation, Documentation. This becomes your ticket to be on the bus instead of being thrown under it. Sometimes it even lets you be the bus driver. When you have a 'teammate' that isn't carrying his weight make sure he gets all of the credit he deserves. Anything can be said on the day of reckoning but you can't argue with good documentation.

Those TX thunderstorms with dark bruise color are massive and almost always spawn a tornado or 20. Interesting that this story also brings in the MBA with a TX-sized attitude and ego, with a side of nepotism. Never met an MBA that wasn't trained in being an Ahole, and this story brought the two together wonderfully.

Good. Shut down most of the data centers. Companies got along with on-site servers on a scaled down level before some greedy rich people wanted to get richer by centralizing data processing into behemoths that ran up everyone's electric bills, drained the water supplies, and made the locals endure a constant hum 24/7.

2010: smaller company - datacenter and prod admin - blindsided. Got 27k in Severance, they were calling every day- 8 days later I was back and kept severance.
