I love that you revisit “old” topics. I used to wonder how on earth you could find new subjects to talk about, but it’s so good to go over things again and again. It makes them stick and there’s often parts where I think “ooh I didn’t know that”, or “oh yeah I’d forgotten that”! Thank you👍

I like to think of the personal "a" as meaning "alma de", so that when we are speaking about a person or a pet we are talking about their soul or their spirit, not their body, but the part inside, the part that really matters.

Gracias a vosotros por este podcast.  But what happens when you use  verbs like gustar.  EG me encantar a Juan?

Have you ever heard a Spanish speaker using the Personal A in an unusual situation when you didn't expect to hear it?

Hi! Very interesting video. 😃<br>My own understanding of this topic is that &quot;the dog bites the burguer&quot; translates as &quot;El perro muerde la hamburguesa&quot;. However, because Spanish word order is more flexible than English one, we could also say &quot;La hamburguesa muerde el perro&quot; to enphasize the burguer. Now. If the sentence was &quot; The dog bites the racoon&quot;, that would be &quot;El perro muerde al mapache&quot; or &quot;Al mapache muerde el perro&quot;. We use &quot;a&quot; in the second example to mark the animated object whereas the inanimared object doesn&apos;t get it because a burguer cannot bite. So, long story short, because it is not mandatory to place the spanish subject at the beginning of the sentence, we need to mark the animated object
