I love that a lot of people take "well she turned down Brock" as partial evidence for the Ivy theory, as though Brock doesn't get turned down constantly

Citing "bug collecting" as """proof""" for Tajiri's autism shows an incredible lack of cultural awareness from whoever decided to list that in the rumour mill - collecting bugs is a pretty common hobby in Japan (and many heroes like Kamen Rider have design elements that recall bugs because of their popularity as a whole), and a lot of franchises over the decades have used this as a way to transpose that hobby into something that could be sold. Kinnikuman figures have been a thing since 1983, and they're all about collecting them all.

I appreciate the Ivy Twitter guy and the book writer both admitting they were wrong to not research better and admit they probably got it wrong. Surprisingly mature responses. I figured everyone would double down even harder.

Anyone else find assigning a person a mental disorder, solely based on minor details like their hobbies, incredibly odd and inappropriate? Especially in the case of Tajiri, there's a lot of assumptions and simply not knowing how cultures can differ.

"Apparently she's written over 100 books, most within a few weeks"

Those are either some short books, some bad books, or she can just type damn fast. Possibly all 3.

Big respect for putting your money where your mouth is. Not many channels would go to the lengths of fact checking that you guys do these days.

I gotta wonder if it took multiple takes to say "Twitter user 'dragonmilfs'..." with a straight face and in such a serious tone.

I had always thought of Ditto being a failed Mew as a fan theory. I didn't realize people apparently thought it was actually true.

A few months ago I saw someone bring up the "Satoshi Tajiri is Autistic" thing and tried to debunk it to them due to the fact it lacked any credible sources, but they just got pissed at me for it. I'm Autistic myself so yes it may be sad to see it's not true, but I value making sure information is correct more. Thanks for looking into this and giving others a place to point to as proof this isn't real in the future.

The myths here all boil down to
"Thats a nice argument, now back it up with a source."
"My source is I made it the fuck up."
