  I think it is amazing how this man found love without religion, but with his own individual self, realizing its connection as one every individual being on this earth. I never heard of this man before in my life, but this is the first time that I received the answer from all these countless thousands of hours of YouTube videos of looking for truth. I was wrapped up in my own individual self and the destruction of my own perfect life. Now I can think clearly back that it wasn’t giving me satisfaction and contentment because there had to be something greater out there and I kept running into organized religion, talked about love and loving God that I never truly experienced. I hope I can find what this man found. He is my hero because he went into the darkness of his self and waded through all those questions and literally pulled out the answer as Love. Not a love that you read about in the book, but that he found within himself and extended to all being surrounded him. This literally destroyed the fear of death is eternal and it is where we all are from. Thank you Mr. Tolstoy!!!

  My teacher had us read &quot;The Death of Ivan Illich&quot;. &nbsp;He called the short-short story &quot;one of the bass-notes of reality&quot;. &nbsp;It booms at the mere mention of Tolstoy&apos;s name, to this day. &nbsp;And this is an entire orchestra. &nbsp;Thank you.

  I read War and Peace because I was named after a main character. Natasha was a shallow social butterfly who eventually became a grounded family woman. The book was a surprisingly easy read, just incredibly long. My copy had a cheat list of characters at the beginning, because one character would have several nicknames. That list was quite helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, as well as Anna Karenina, and the much shorter Ivan Ilyich. I also read one other work of Tolstoy&apos;s, but it didn&apos;t remain in my memory bank. That&apos;s okay: he is much more remembered than I will ever be!
