  Being able to make fun of our differences really desensitizes us to each other. It’s good. Back in the 80’s and 90’s blacks and whites in America made fun of each other all the time, but it meant we were comfortable enough to too it with each other. When the jokes stop, that’s usually a bad sign.

  Japan receives a lot of criticism for not teaching these sensitive topics, but it seems that Korea&apos;s education system also leaves out just as much of its past problems. Many of today&apos;s social problems are explained in history and sociology classes, and pretending nothing happened is a missed opportunity.

  I find it very strange how these girls didnt know Koreans had slaves. It is a very central topic in many movies/KDramas. I have not seen all that many of these Joseon era setting movies/shows, but I have seen enough to know it was a massive thing. War of Arrows, Mr Sunshine, The Slave Hunters, Pretty much every one of these types of movies/shows I have seen feature some plot-line about nobility and their slaves being mistreated, abused, some slave uprising, some political shift to ban slavery and free slaves by the king only for nobility to combat him. You would think this was the sort of thing you were both taught about in school and you would come across in popular media.

Although there&apos;s a law that has been passed that will come into action by February 2027 that prevents people from breeding dogs for consumption. Still, there will be no laws nor punishments against people who want to consume dog meat. The more you know.
