I haven't purchased a new rod/reel in years.
I just keep using the old classics. When I buy, i buy the old/used classic as well.
The only thing that I get new are the lines, and hooks. Still catching fish.

Well from my experience and from what ive tried, the most sensitive jdm rods were made by Designo, Ares (Nissin), Legame (blanks rolled by Nissin), Luxxe (Gamakatsu) and everything that is made by the Olympic. Btw t30, t33 (t1100), t35 is used only as a main material from the tip to bottom of the blank. High mod carbon such as T40, t46, j40, j46, m40x, m46x are used only in small percentage and placed usually in the blank section above reel seat

Bombada travel rods. My personal favourite is Passista 54. Used it for offshore casting, inshore, freshwater monster (Giant Snakehead, Catfish) and can be use to fight Papuan Bass in tight spaces. The tip is very good, you can cast far no problem. Check it out if you havent.
