As a kid, I remember Gobots being too goofy looking to be cool. Thus, Transformers were the go to for toys.

The theme song had a large part of the Transformers success.

Being a teen in the 90s had its perks but I certainly miss being a kid in the 80s, first.

I loved Crasher. Her laugh and foot stomp attack were awesome.

I was Team Transformers for sure, but family members got me Go-Bots as well. They saw transforming robots and were like 'he'll like this.'

On one issue this video has it not just wrong but exactly backwards. GoBots in vehicle mode looked just fine. The only possible criticism of their vehicle mode was that the windows sometimes were just solid gray rather than clear plastic, but that honestly wasn't a problem. The real problem with their appearance was in the robot mode. Once transformed into robots, the GoBots looked terrible. Too chunky like a vehicle sawed up and glued back together in random fashion, with unappealing proportions. Transformers looked cool as robots, and sometimes made you feel clever for being able to mentally figure out just from looking at them how they turned into a vehicle. No such effort was necessary for the GoBots; it was too obvious.

I loved both GoBots and Transformers as a kid. I honestly didn't know what happened to GoBots until this video. I'm now 48. Thanks for this information.

I loved my rock lords toys. We had damn near everyone. My dad bought us cheap toys and stuff on sale when it was old. We had no clue we got left overs. We were happy
