  Classic tried to be as scientifically accurate as they could be to the science of the time. <br><br>Modern Trek doesn&apos;t care to even try. That&apos;s the difference

  It&apos;s in the freaking show title, STRANGE NEW WORLDS, they could have made them visit a planet where everyone communicated in song ie instead of speech they sang. &nbsp;Speaking to common people could be one a type of song, speaking with leaders could be a larger musical production, speaking with the military could be another. &nbsp; and no k-pop Klingons needed.

  Real Star Trek always called things like &apos;white holes&apos; an Anomaly....every time there was something &apos;weird&apos; in space, &quot;there&apos;s an anomaly!&quot; &quot;There&apos;s a ship coming out of the Anomaly!&quot; &quot;I&apos;m receiving a transmission, from the other side of the anomaly!&quot;. I&apos;m sticking by my headcanon where the Kurtzman Universe is all mixed-up timey-wimey movie science and movie physics, with thin interdimensional barriers where people turn into puppets. While, the Prime Universe contains the actual laws of physics and the reality that we embrace with our logic and reason, and only one of those universes has actual Star Trek.

  One thing about the musical. &nbsp;I remember a ds9 episode where a virus made the characters talk in nonsense. &nbsp;Their is no reason that a virus or a nuero magnetic field could cause them to sing. &nbsp;Their were a lot of better ways of doing that. &nbsp;The real problem with kurtzman is that he doesn&apos;t take the stories seriously.

  Stop it - the show isn’t sci-fi. Loose science concepts can not disguise writing laziness.<br><br>No science advisors in the writing room. And you nailed it - the emotionally dramatic theme of the episode was conceived first with the paint of Star Trek slapped on.

  The time displacement concept was interesting and even the part that there are entities living in it was a bit like DS9, but delivering a baby thing didn&apos;t make any sense. Before streaming there used to be more episodes, but now there are fewer in a season. I think those episodes that don&apos;t expand on the universe should really be short treks episodes like Discovery had.
