A way most european grocery stores tell you that "this food is almost expired" is by basicaly sticking a sticker, usualy pink or orange, that lowers the price of the main product. Basicaly an end of life discount :D

Mayo in a tube is not strange in Europe. We also eat it with our fries, and in Belgium we eat fries every week. So the size of the tube is normal for us.

There is nothing illegal about using a token instead of a coin (50 cent, 1euro or 2euro) to get your grocery cart. Most stores will give you a token for free if you ask.
