I worked for a Utility that had a Hydro generating system with dams ,tunnels , canals , and powerhouses . I saw a coworker driving down the road with a handful of high school aged kids in his work truck that had inner tubes . It was totally against the rules to give the public rides in our vehicles so when I caught up with my coworker later I asked him what was up .
He said he encountered the kids walking down the road and they flagged him down and all looked terrified .
He said initially they wouldn't tell him what happened but then finally admitted they had put their tubes in one of our canals that was full with fast flowing cold water thinking it would be a fun ride (despite the Warning /Danger/Keep out signs ). Problem was the canal changed to a tunnel blasted through a mountain side a couple of hundred yards past where they put in . The water flows pretty fast making it very hard to stop even after you see the tunnel . After entering the tunnel they were plunged into complete darkness and the ceiling is only about 1 1/2 -2 feet above the water with jagged rocks hanging down with a full canal . I think that first tunnel is about 1/4 mile long and it must have seemed like forever before they came out on the other end and had to climb over the canal wall to escape . Apparently it wasn't as much fun as they thought it would be but luckily for them they all survived .

This is a classic example of Natural Selection. Just give it time.

This is so dangerous those tunnels can fill to the top during a storm so easily

This is definitely the most important accomplishment of this man's life. Nothing he has ever done or will ever do can possibly compare. Absolute peak moment here.

It's always funny to me when I see youtubers make videos at this tunnel. It's by my grandma's house.

These guys would think I was the most boring person on earth. I have no desire to ever do this but it's fun and interesting to watch.
