I stuck this out for more than half before you learn why she withdrew her name. I understand that they want to use this to draw you in, but I think it was an extremely bad call on your writers. I am not the only one who thinks this. They need to clearly state why she removed her name. You can later explain why it hurt that her mate hid it, but without that, no one understands this confusing story. They link is missing. We understand that she ought happy with this or that, but it looks like she being hard for no reason. She could say she is holding off or removing her name because she found a a hidden close that he didn't want her to see. This could be inner dialog right at the beginning. No one knows but her and the listener. Now they understand that she is looking for everything, explaining everything. Maybe in the end this king might grow a spine and become honest. Also say I will not force my mate to choose me if she wants to keep her land and inheritance. Its funny, he gets her inheritance if she decides he is trying to control her and breaks the bond. Or she gets to keep it if they mate, but honestly she then becomes controlled by the crown, kingdom and her inheritance goes to him because the man owns everything.

If this were me i would have done a few things differently and not tell him about this last step till she removed her name.
1 Before this day, I would have met with him. Staying calm and let the quiet duo the talking.
2hand him a contract they would grant you sole legal protection for you inheritance and land. Held away from the crown.
3you stand beside him, not under.
4 this is a union between them 2 and there will be no outside men or women. No other consort. No private meetings with women. No talks about replacements. She is entitled to be in the room and stood up for. She is the queen and demands the recognition.
5 any charges against her demand the same as everyone else. Investigation and fair trial. This is to be held by a neutral tribunal of 7. Everything bring used if allowed to be seen by her.
6 the right to come and go freely. She is not a caged pet.
