I've done some research in this period of English history, and I find it very fitting that Alfred is the only British monarch to be given the title "The Great". He was! This was a man of unusual foresight that Britain needed desperately during his time.

The reign of Alfred the Great was depicted in the Netflix show The Last Kingdom. Highly reccomended. Plenty of fiction added of course, but the major historical events are accurate.

Honestly, the battle wasn’t the most interesting part. Alfred lost almost everything, then came back and rebuilt the system around him. The fortifications, diplomacy, reforms—winning the battle was just the beginning.

I’ve watched a couple of your videos and they are very well done. However, is the typing noise really necessary? It adds nothing to the videos but an annoyance. True that is only my opinion, but there it is.
