Even if Trevor is insane, he's smart. Pulling out heists, reading people, recognizing set ups. He knows what he's doing

Trevor telling the dealer he can’t hustle a hustler is so iconic

Fun fact: you actually CAN call Lester after Scouting the Port if you type his phone number. Unfortunately the call is some kind of leftover cut content since the nurse that picks up the phone, to tell Trevor that Lester was doing a treatment, does not have any voice acted lines but the subtitles will still be there

Also Michael is the only one who can make fun or joke around with Trevor without being killed we saw what happened when Franklin laughed at him for tripping over

Trevor isn't stupid... He is impulsive and maybe a psychopath, the one thing that he deserves more credit for is how perceptive he is.

When I first started playing this game, Micheal was my favorite character, since I found his demeanor and style really cool. Now that I’m older, I love Franklin and Trevor a lot more. Franklin is the classic GTA protagonist moving up the criminal ranks. My favorite thing about Trevor is how his insanity hides how much of an experienced criminal he is.

Trevor was never portrayed as a dumb character. It's just that his temper gets in the way.

IF you think Trevor is legitimately 'dumb'...just know you are probably one of the easiest people to manipulate into something.

As others mentioned, Trevor's madness served to obscure his smartness which makes other characters underestimate his intelligence.

A quote from Hamlet comes to mind: "Though this be madness, yet there is method in it."

If Trevor wasn't a criminal; he'd be a good detective and now i want to see a L.A noire style game but Trevor is the protagonist
