How incredibly idiotic and egocentric do you have to be to believe that a sport played only in one nation has more impact than one played across almost the entire planet?
It's inconceivable to me that in the information age, where everyone has instant access to all of humanity's information, there are still people who believe that nothing exists outside their borders, at least nothing worthwhile.
That the Super Bowl is more important to Americans than the World Cup... I understand that. But that doesn't make it any greater, because the world is much more than the USA.

A single Premier League match can have a global viewership of over 600 million people and that's just a regular league game

Its this.. americans dont know about anything outside USA!
Superbowl is a competition between two USA teams, in a closed league, so they are not even USA champions.
World cup is the whole world.. its an honour to even qualify to be able to participate!
Becuse if one is qualified, your national team have alredy beaten a lot of other national teams on ones own continent!

Saying FIFA is a soccer tournament is an oxymoron, FIFA = Fédération Internationale de FOOTBALL Association.
