  Reasons why Spiderpunk is amazing:<br>1. Teaches Miles to use his palms not just his finger<br>2. Gives Miles hints on why he shouldn&apos;t join the team, while warning him about Miguel<br>3. Reminds Miles to use his palms when trying to escape the cage<br>4. Secretly steals parts and tells Miles to make his own watch as he proceeds to make a watch for Gwen<br>5. Accomplishes so much with less than 5mins of screen time<br>6. Teams up with Gwen to help Miles in the end<br>7. &quot;Just for the record, I quit&quot;

  This movie is a golden example of how to subtly write a character. Your first watch you may see Hobie as just a funny chaotic neutral character who is just there to start crap, and be a token romantic rival for miles.<br><br>Then by your 2nd watch you realize some of the things he says doesn&apos;t just help miles, but proves to be right immediately after he says it. Till eventually you realize, Hobie of all characters is THE ONLY character (besides Miles&apos; parents) who has Miles&apos; best interests at heart. The only character who isn&apos;t lying to him or withholding information from him. <br>That is how you make a memorable character.

  I like how he salutes Mayday Parker for just being a baby. She is the direct result of Peter B choosing to fix his broken life instead of letting it be his life.

  I like that he plays up the contrarian attitude to obfuscate the fact that he&apos;s actually very smart and subtle with how he implements his rebellion. Fleecing bits of tech, putting ideas in Miles&apos;s head, giving him advice, egging him on, all to undermine Miguel&apos;s authority. He&apos;s the reason Miles and the rest of the Spider-Gang rebel against the Spider Society, meaning he&apos;s the biggest instigator of the plot after Miles. He&apos;s an extremely effective anarchist and I&apos;d love to see him in action in whatever dystopia he hails from.
