It's laughable that they ever thought they could beat him at all, but the way he *pretends*, while still protecting their lives drives home the entirely different plane of existence he operates on. For them it's the fight of their lives, for him it's putting on a school play.

"He who has the power, makes the rules." Is always fun when you're the one with the power, but power always shifts eventually.

"I made the mistake of treating you people...like _people_..." That always makes me have goosebumps. To hear those words coming out of Clark's mouth? Terrifying.

I see this as him setting an example, of why he holds back. Of why he treats the world like its made of cardboard. Because when he stops holding back, thats when you realize theirs no where you can hide.

The things that Batman or Wonder Woman would have done to these people if they had successfully killed Superman would have been entertaining in their own right.

He could have wiped them out at super speed before they could even formulate a thought.

I love how OSP describes this:

"So Clark says 'I'm gonna start playing by your rules,' and immediately kills two of them."

3:23 evidently they don't understand what universe they're in, Batman sits at his computer watching, taking notes, and gathering various materials for if they ever make the mistake of entering Gotham or successfully killing Superman.
