  The circus ballet thing, it’s not the dancer on top that’s balancing, she is just staying extremely straight with a ton of core and ankle strength, the guy underneath is actually the one balancing her, it’s kinda like balancing a stick upright on your hand<br>But the surface is not straight and on the shoulders of the guy I do it with I have to be over my box to stay on his shoulder and at the same time stay super strong in my ankle, makes me cramp real fast every time

  I love adage! There is a Japanese manga &apos;Subaru&apos;. The protagnist is a genius ballet dancer. She tries hip-hop dancing and rejects it saying it is &apos; too joyful&apos;. &apos;Ballet is mostly pain, but every once in a while, you succeed in standing on that edge of a knife, and that&apos;s really cool&apos; Adage is like that

  I stopped going to one teachers lesson because she skips adagio. Cuz I’m actually that weird one who enjoys doing adagio 😅

  as a former RG from a ru school - i&apos;m genuinely conflicted about extreme stretching while very young. on the one hand, i went through it and i <b>hated</b> it. on the other, i was small and i was lucky to have coaches who knew how to push our limits without causing us any injury. we did cry and scream but part me thinks this was a social thing as i stretched the same at home with my mum and there were no tears at all. by the time i hit around 10-11, i looked back on those days with some gratitude. it was much easier to build strength <b>after</b> flexibility was established, and my peers who did not have such stretching early in life (i had left ru by this point) struggled with both. at the end of the day, &nbsp;i think children are more resilient than we often give credit -- however, it&apos;s not all children and not every coach is capable of determining correctly which ones will benefit from more pressure as opposed to the ones who will take such struggles to heart and develop negative emotional responses. on that grounds alone, from the perspective of a coach/trainer, perhaps it is better to err on the side of caution to avoid harming some of the group to benefit of one or two.

  I studied at a school that taught &nbsp;Vagonava. My teacher was Russian. &nbsp;I was in love with ballet and still am to this day. However, that is &nbsp;the way they would stretch. Forcing your body. I was being forced in to splits and a muscle was torn. I had to have surgery. &nbsp; Well , that was the end of my professional dance dreams. &nbsp;I was ten. <br>I’m much older now. And, still dance for myself. Because , the dance is just in my body. Can’t be without it.<br>P.S. still love Vagonava and all methods. It was more the way that teacher taught. She was tough. Probably the way she was taught.

  Love your commentary! there are other ballet tik tok reaction videos but glad you&apos;re not just reacting but also giving us insight! And I guess ballet core is just ballet-inspired looks, accurate or not.

  So funny that you mention the “Watering can”. I am Russian trained, and we ALWAYS had a watering can full of water to sprinkle the hard wood floors, as we never used rosin until performances. My early studies were with Mdme. Helena Antonova, who danced with Diagalev’s Ballet Russe. She was quite a treasure. I was her favorite, she always showed me the routines using her hands while describing the steps in her thick Russian accent. Then I would demonstrate the bar exercise for the rest of the class. She gave me great courage, and I learned a great deal from her.
