It's been a long time since I even played KOF 99 before this video, but...

The AI in this game is really strange. I didn't remember the AI just standing there and countering all of attacks, but it seems that this proves it pretty well. And it's not just the PS1 port that has this problem, I've had runs where the Neo Geo AI did the same thing. (Though I do feel that the PS1 port is more challenging, to be fair.) It's still not the worst AI that SNK produced, however... (*cough* NG KOF 95(thanks, Saisyu) and Samurai Shodown 3)

Also, I can confirm that all of the PS1 ports from 97 onward also had the input problem, where some of the special moves don't work if you input them too fast. This happens in the not only OG ports, but also in the PSN ports. As a person that played PS1 KOF 95, 97 and 99, though? I still don't think the PS1 port of KOF 99 is that bad. I've had a great time with it.

Great playthrough, RQ87!

it could just be me, but the sound quality on the PS1 KOF games has always sounded terrible to me, at least 99. I might sound like a perfectionist here, but the PS1 versions sound like they're recorded through a tincan and everything except the OST sounds absolutely fucking hideous lmao

Hmm weird,it's quite a good port for a ps1,like 98 but with improved loading times between rounds
For the inputs it might come from psn version because ps1 version is fine.
Kof 97 is a bad port on ps1
