  As a prior firefighter in a small rural department I APPLAUD you for sounding the alarm on this issue. It’s a serious problem, I personally have experienced problems when using an outdated apparatus. It’s dangerous and outrageous. So once again, THANK YOU!

  Don’t allow equity racketeers to control that much of a marketplace. Break up the monopoly.

  What is not mentioned, these manufactures have bought out most of the ambulance manufactures and now control the market for both fire and EMS vehicles. <br>The power these Wall Street companies have, suffocate the few independent manufactures that are left.<br>They control the purchases of engines, transmissions, pumps and warning lights limiting access to these smaller manufactures. <br><br>These Wall Street manufacture have contract with suppliers giving them priority. <br>These representatives couldn’t care less about costs and delivery time as long as the bottom line is green.<br>I spent 36 in the fire service and have designed not fire and EMS vehicles

  Its basic economics, supply and demand. They monopolize the market, created a supply shortage, the demand went up, and the price was driven up and it repeats.

  Because companies that are building them have gotten greedy!!! Just like why people are having a hard time being able to afford rent for an apartment. Investors are buying up companies and apartments. Just to make shareholders more money.

  As a longtime volunteer, I started in the 80&apos;s. &nbsp;We purchased a 1984 Engine, $87,400, today that same Engine recently my department, 1.1 million, now I know it was 40yrs ago, but how can that happen, that is ridiculous and criminal. &nbsp;Small rural FD&apos;s cannot afford this and it doesn&apos;t take that long to build one. &nbsp;Criminal at best.

  The shortage is intentional ! &nbsp;REV group (Private Equity $$) bought up the fire truck manufacturers and now have monopolized the CHASSIS industry. &nbsp;Even the independent companies can’t build trucks without a chassis. By limiting production, they are able to guarantee themselves 5+ years security at all times. &nbsp;It’s money hungry companies ignoring the county’s needs over PROFIT. &nbsp;Welcome to America 🤨
