William Zabka managed to let us see that young Johnny in his face, as he told Kreese how he felt all these years. His acting was incredible. As other said, he deserves an Emmy just for those scenes alone.

Zabka deserves an Emmy for the reconciliation with Kreese scene alone.

I think Sam not fighting is the best thing they could have done.

Ever since the Show started, she never wanted to fight for a Trophy.
First she fought to defend her friends (like Demitri from Cobra Kai) then to defend herself from Tory, then she fought in the All Valley for her Dojo to endure and then to take down Silver.

Her whole Arc was never about winning the Tournament, even though she could.

And Tory needs a Victory much more than Sam. And Sam knows that. Stepping aside was the best thing they could do with her Character.

William Zabka absolutely bodied this episode, always felt that Johnny was easily the best written and most developed character in the entire Karate Kid/Cobra Kai franchise. It’s crazy how he went from a one dimensional teenage bully/jock to a very likable, relatable and funny adult character with flaws.

I like the reveal that it wasn’t necessarily losing that broke Johnny, it was the way Kreese reacted to him losing that broke him. It was always more than we realized. You could just feel the internalized anger within Johnny during that scene.

This episode was just further proof that the creators of this show just GET IT! They love / respect / know the characters / this world. What happened was true to the teachings of both Miyago-Do and Cobra Kai. Just chef's kiss PERFECT!
