I like david's story about him realizing he wasn't that good at being a lawyer, nor even knew what leveraged buy outs were when he set out to start Carlyle; he couldn't even find some finance guys to start a firm with so he can become legal counsel. All he knew was the time he spent at washington meant that he knew more about regulations than most investment firms.<br><br>I guess the lesson I get from him is there will be tons of opportunities in life, make sure you're atleast good at one thing because that's enough to get the ball rolling; also keep reading the news/books about what you're interested in, that's how david found his opportunity in leveraged buyouts.

David Rubenstein is a very effective communicator indeed. He covers a LOT of content in a SHORT time, and it is not hard or taxing to follow-along / absorb. I noticed the same quality his "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations" too. <br>Absolutely worth watching! Thanks for these video posts.
