  To answer your question, the Viper GTS-R used the same 8.2L V10 that came in the road going Viper, just up tuned for GT3 competition. Team Oreca won Le Mans, Daytona 24h, and Sebring in 2000 with it.

  Now you need to make a road legal homologation, so it qualifies for GT3.<br><br>Would love to see a new automation &quot;autocross&quot; series with these cars as well as community creations

  While watching this I was also building one, and I ended up with a 6.2L Supercharger V8 Jaguar. Pretty happy with it.

  The racing Vipers all used engines based on the standard V10, and the only ones that weren&apos;t V10s were the ones Zakspeed used at the Nurburgring. The maximum engine size was set at 6200cc, so they took a couple of conrods/pistons/valves off and made a 6.2L V8 from the V10 block instead. Some GT3 cars have used engines that weren&apos;t in the original cars, the BMW Z4 GT3 used a V8 the road car didn&apos;t have, and the Mercedes AMG GT3 uses the engine from the SLS GT3
