  As somebody who was actually involved on the project at the initial stage the MOD was told numerous times by many people that IT WAS A BAD IDEA THAT WOULDN&apos;T WORK. They were told time and again that it would have been quicker, cheaper and better to build a custom platform from the ground up.

  One of the things about Scimitar being so light was that the ground loading was extremely low. I&apos;ve heard stories of crew jumping out of scimitars and sinking into the mud that it was sitting on perfectly happily.

  Every job advert I saw for programme/project manager at the MoD basically says something along the lines of &quot;must have experience of working in the MoD&quot; - IE, &quot;Na, we don&apos;t want someone who might have a clue how to run programmes/projects - we want the same useless people who continually screw up our MoD programme/project and run everything behind schedule, over budget and unfit for purpose&quot;

It will already be halfway through its anticipated lifespan before its even issued to units. <br><br>Plus the encrypted communications system that is supposed to be fitted to it is also substantially falling behind and likely will be obsolete as soon as its fitted.
