there's a weird sense of longing, loneliness, and emptiness that permeates this track -- probably because it brings back memories of simpler times that we will never get to experience again.

but at the same time, the fact that we will never get our childhoods back is the beauty of it all because we can look back in our memories and relish what once was

1 day you didnt realize that you were putting down the controller on DKC for the last time. Years later then you're back listening to the music of your gaming youth longing to have those simpler times back. But this will have to do for now.

This song doesn't bring me any memories, I didn't play donkey kong country as a kid, and I still feel all the things people are saying, so it isn't just nostalgia, the track is just that awesome.

I remember during summer break of 1995, I guess I was just finishing 5th grade, my brother and I would rent this game from our nearby local movie shop or blockbuster if we got to go there. I dont know how many times we rented it that summer, but we would play and play, sometimes staying up way to late. I remember thinking the music was so unlike anything I had heard on any other game. I would turn the volume up and sometimes not even play, just let the music carry me away as I sat in the dark with just the glow of the TV. The other night, now something like 30 years later, my wife and I lay in bed listening to this, watching the game play, telling our stories about playing this game. This is nostalgia at its best.

Amazing the subtle new details, difference in the bass, in the piano, in the previously muffled echo produced. I understand very little but I think this work is amazing, the cleaner sound, big differences from 2019, 2020 and now 23

When did I first hear this track? No idea. It feels as though it's always just been part of my favourite songs of all time, always been there, yet every time I listen I get transported away like few other songs manage to do. Every listen is an experience, no many how much I've heard it before. There's just something so ethereal and beautiful, gripping, mystifying and gorgeous about it. Absolutely adore this masterpiece and always will

This, forest interlude, and stickerbrush symphony. No songs hit me right in the nostalgia spot like those do.
