  My instructor told me after I passed my check ride to remember that this is an aircraft - it belongs in the air, so if things don&apos;t look right stay in the air and try again to land. &nbsp;That was in 1982 and I still remember it.

  I was a passenger on a CRJ that did a go-round at DCA a couple of weeks ago. &nbsp;<br>At the time it made no sense and was scary, so close to touchdown. <br>Now I understand we were fortunate to have a crew that knew they had to go round, and execute the procedure.

  I think they need to take a hard look at 21 Air’s training department. The fact that a go-around was not called for at multiple unstable gates raises questions about their training and decision making.

  As a medical worker and a private pilot I can tell you that every professional is somewhere on a bell shaped curve. Every training program has a last in their class. When combined with lack of experience the risks increase exponentially.

  What&apos;s worse for the people who lost their lives was, they weren&apos;t even traveling on a plane and it still killed them.

  The fact the first words out of his mouth after running over all of those people were “ my careers over “, tells me all I need to know about who he is. What an absolute tragedy. My heart breaks for those lost &amp; their loved ones left behind. I’m not a pilot but this to me was avoidable. It wasn’t an accident it was incompetence. Thank you guys for the break down. I’m sure this hits you very hard because you have dedicated your lives to being the very best &amp; care about the job you do. 💕💖💕

  That whole thing about you feeling like a failure for going around. I&apos;m a truck driver and I can tell you right now, it doesn&apos;t matter what equipment you&apos;re operating, if your ego has that kind of control over you it will cost you. The bigger and heavier the equipment the harder it bites when it catches that ego out.

  When someone says “my career is over” it’s usually after getting into a wreck while DUI. I sense there is no difference in this case, tragically.

  This thing was a disaster from the start, my son is a pilot and flies out of Miami. He says when in doubt go around, go around and go around. &nbsp;I echo the truck driver Prime drivers are the worse, in my 42 years of driving a truck never seen such bad drivers.
