Dark Souls is a third-person action RPG with hack-and-slash elements, characterized by a dark atmosphere and difficulty far exceeding current standards. The game received rave reviews for its challenging gameplay, immersive atmosphere, practical controls, and innovative multiplayer mode, most of these aspects imported from its spiritual predecessor, Demon's Souls. The protagonist finds himself in Drangleic, a once prosperous land that has fallen into ruin, to seek a cure for his affliction, the curse of the Undead. He begins at the Enchanted Altar, a place guarded by the last Fire Keepers. After stating your name, you are rewarded with a Human Effigy (note that the player was in a Hollow state). The protagonist is then customized, and his journey begins. Dark Souls 3 is an action role-playing video game developed by FromSoftware exclusively for PC, PS4, and XBOX One in 2016.
